Job Overview
We are seeking a safe and experienced Class A CDL Driver specializing in manufactured home transport and oversized loads. This role offers an exciting opportunity to operate heavy-duty tractor-trailers across diverse routes, ensuring the safe and timely delivery of large, specialized freight. As a vital part of our logistics team, you will navigate local routes, handle oversized cargo with precision, and uphold the highest standards of safety and compliance. Duties
- Safely operate Class A commercial trucks, including tractor-trailers equipped for oversized loads and manufactured home transport.
- Plan and execute efficient routes using GPS navigation systems, ensuring timely deliveries while complying with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations.
- Load, secure, and unload manufactured homes or oversized freight using manual handling techniques and appropriate equipment such as forklifts or roll-off trucks.
- Follow all FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations, hazardous materials regulations, and safety protocols during transit and cargo handling.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety, including checks on refrigeration units for refrigerated trailers when applicable.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch to coordinate route adjustments, delivery schedules, and cargo requirements.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL license with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, especially with tractor-trailers hauling oversized or manufactured home loads.
- Familiarity with manual transmission trucks and various trailer types including flatbed, dump truck, and roll-off truck.
- Strong knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT rules, hazardous materials regulations, and safety standards for transporting oversized loads.
- Ability to operate GPS navigation systems efficiently for route planning and adjustments.
- Experience with manual handling techniques for heavy or awkward cargo; familiarity with forklift operation is a plus.
- Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety, precision, and customer service.
- Physical ability to load & unload freight manually when necessary; comfortable working in physically demanding environments.
