Job Summary:
The Human Resources/Accounting Specialist enhances the Human Resources function with a strong focus on payroll administration, benefits management, and employee relations while maintaining the personnel handbook and related employment policies and training programs. We are seeking a motivated individual to focus on 30 - 50 employees in this role. Additionally, the dual role includes accounting functions for the company; banking, general ledgers entries, preparing for required audits and more.
Core competencies, Knowledge, Skills & Education:
· Bachelor’s degree in business, Human Resources, or related field preferred.
· 3+ years of payroll and bookkeeping experience required.
· Professional HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP) preferred.
· Strong interpersonal skills with an emphasis on collaboration and teamwork.
· Results-driven with high attention to detail and follow-up.
· Critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
· Demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately.
· Ability to remain current with existing and new employment legislation.
Major Accountabilities:
- Process accurate and timely bi-weekly payroll and required payroll reporting.
- Calculate, monitor, and input payroll data including wages, bonuses, taxes, garnishments, etc.
- Maintain HR systems and records to ensure accuracy, organization, and legal compliance.
- Serve as liaison between corporate offices, insurance providers, and employees regarding benefit plans.
- Administer benefit enrollments, changes, terminations, and open enrollment processes.
- Manage unemployment claims and represent the company at unemployment hearings.
- Respond to internal and external HR inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Create and maintain employee physical and electronic files to document lifespan of employment. Prepare and deliver HR reports, metrics, and data as requested.
- Maintain and update contents of the personnel handbook and related employment policies to adapt to changes occurring in the work environment while remaining compliant with state and federal regulations.
- Maintain written training programs in collaboration with managers providing effective growth and development opportunities, enabling employees to fulfill their maximum potential within the organization.
- Coordinate with Managers the digital recording of training segments for service, installation, scheduled maintenance processes, safety procedures and PPE use as well as administrative training courses for office staff.
- Documents, supports and models operational procedures, policies, and Employee Handbook in accordance with management requirements.
- Coordinate with management attracting talent, hiring, onboarding, discipline, and termination of employees.
Pay: $26.00 - $28.00 per hour
