Job Description: All-Purpose Laborer (C&D Recycling Facility)
Position Overview
We are seeking a hardworking, reliable, and safety-conscious All-Purpose Laborer to join our team at our Construction and Demolition (C&D) material recycling facility. In this role, you will be on the front lines of our environmental efforts, ensuring that recyclable materials are properly recovered and processed.
The ideal candidate is physically fit, thrives in a fast-paced outdoor/warehouse environment, and is committed to maintaining a safe and efficient workspace.
Key ResponsibilitiesMaterial Sorting & Recovery
- Hand-sort incoming C&D debris on a sorting line or designated floor area.
- Accurately identify and separate recyclable materials including wood, cardboard, metal, sheetrock, and small concrete.
- Ensure non-recyclable waste and contaminants are removed from the recycling streams.
- Meet daily production and recovery goals set by the shift supervisor.
Facility Operations & Vehicle Safety
- Safely tarp and untarp vehicles, containers, and outbound trailers to secure loads and prevent litter.
- Assist in directing incoming traffic and guiding vehicles to proper unloading zones.
- Clean up spills, debris, and dust around the facility to maintain an organized yard.
Safety & Compliance
- Operate in a safe and efficient manner at all times, adhering to all OSHA and company safety guidelines.
- Wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including hard hats, safety glasses, steel-toed boots, high-visibility vests, and gloves.
- Report any hazardous conditions, equipment malfunctions, or near-misses to management immediately.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: Previous experience in construction, demolition, waste management, or landscaping is a plus, but we are willing to train the right candidate.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly throughout an 8-hour shift.
- Environmental Adaptability: Comfortable working in various weather conditions (heat, cold, rain) and environments that may be dusty or noisy.
- Teamwork & Communication: Ability to follow verbal instructions and work effectively alongside a diverse crew.
- Reliability: Strong work ethic with a track record of punctual and consistent attendance.
Working Conditions & Benefits
Work Environment: This position involves continuous physical labor in an active industrial recycling yard. Dust masks, hearing protection, and all necessary safety gear will be provided.

- Schedule: M-F 6am to 5PM
