Position Summary: The Youth Career Coordinator is responsible for providing support, coordination and lead in youth case management, education, career exploration, job coaching, leadership development, civic engagement and wraparound support to youth and young adult community members served by the Folsom Cordova Community Partnership. Additionally, this position will provide technical assistance, guidance, support and coordination of team objectives and team members. All duties will be performed with a strengths-based, person-centered, culturally responsive, empowerment-focused, and trauma informed manner.
Reports To: Youth Services Manager
Hours: Non-exempt, Regular full-time (up to 40 hours a week)
Wage Range: $25-26 per hour
Compensation: Compensation will be determined based on experience and education

Position Summary: The Youth Career Coordinator is responsible for providing support and coordination of youth career exploration, case management, education, job coaching, leadership development, civic engagement and wraparound support to youth mentors and young adult community members served by the Folsom Cordova Community Partnership.
SPECIFIC DUTIES OR RESPONSIBILITIES: Include, but are not limited to the following:
- Coordination and support in youth career activities
- Conduct or coordinate academic assessment, make referrals into diploma or equivalency educational activities as needed.
- Effectively build rapport with high risk youth.
- Track data and program outcomes and assist in report writing per grant requirements.
- Assist participants with applications for financial assistance, scholarships, employment applications, etc.
- Refer selected applicants to interviews with prospective host work sites and employers according to policies and procedures set by employer and program manager.
- Connect participants to FCCP’s Job Center for further assistance with financial
empowerment related to career exploration, job attainment, labor market information,
pre-employment and job readiness skill attainment.
- Provide financial empowerment education and resources to participants.
- Administer pre-, mid- and post-test assessments to measure progress in financial
- literacy topics and overall program.
- Coordinate, lead or facilitate group meetings, orientations and job readiness and financial empowerment workshops.
- Assist participants in using internet job search tools and automated job match systems.
- Administer and review the results of educational, vocational and employment-related tests designed to identify skills, aptitudes, and interests of eligible participants.
- Determine eligibility for program services; prepare MIS documents, case notes, other reports and CalJobs data for completeness and accuracy correspondence as required.
- Evaluate participant’s personal background, work history, employment skills, knowledge, abilities, education and competency levels and develop a mutually agreed upon Individualized Service Strategy plan to reach employment and education goals.
- Maintain regular ongoing contact with participants throughout the program period and follow up period until goals have been accomplished.
- Maintain organized record keeping and timely data entry related to measures and skill
attainment progression as related to financial empowerment grants.
- Seek and coordinate training opportunities when areas of deficiency are identified.
- Establish and maintain cooperative and professional working relationships with partnership staff and volunteers, partners, clients and the general public.
- Strive to meet and exceed monthly and annual program goals.
- Coordinate and collect program participant’s evaluations from host sites. Review and incorporate in participant coaching sessions as needed.
- Advocate for and act as a liaison for families with existing community services and agencies, which may include translation and interpretation within agency guidelines.
- Actively work to develop a culturally responsive team in conjunction with the Management Team.
- Assist in supervising Career Specialists and Admin Team Staff
- Assist in program planning and coordination of training, coaching staff
- Document, maintain, and update program procedures.
- Grant writing to maintain and expand programs and services of the organization.
- Adhere to all laws and regulations regarding HIPAA, confidentiality, contractual agreements, ethics, and professional boundaries.
- Attend supervision and team meetings.
- Participate in agency staff meetings, organizational planning and other agency-related functions.
- Support overall agency resource development plans and functions as necessary.
- Maintain positive working relationships with other departments, handle conflict in a positive and effective manner.
- Embrace and incorporate the organization’s mission, vision, core values and service delivery philosophies in all work capacities.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be able to legally work in the United States.
- Must possess a valid Driver’s License.
- Have access to an automobile in good working order and minimum level auto insurance specified by CA law.
- Have reliable transportation to and from assigned worksites.
- Have the ability to travel offsite as needed.
- Must be able to pass a DOJ & FBI criminal background check and DMV record check.
Education and Experience:
- Minimum of an Associates degree or two years of experience in employment or social services.
- Minimum one year case management experience, familiarity with CalJobs preferred.
