DACS Medical Wellness & Aesthetics is seeking a motivated, dependable, and patient-focused Medical Assistant/Medical Biller to join our growing team. This is a dual-role position requiring both clinical and administrative skills. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced primary care, wellness, and medical aesthetics practice.
The successful candidate will assist providers with patient care while also managing medical billing, insurance verification, and front-office responsibilities to ensure efficient clinic operations.
ResponsibilitiesClinical Duties
- Room patients and obtain vital signs
- Document chief complaints and update medical histories
- Assist providers during examinations and procedures
- Administer injections and perform basic clinical tasks within scope of practice
- Prepare examination and treatment rooms
- Perform EKGs, specimen collection, and point-of-care testing as needed
- Sterilize equipment and maintain infection control standards
- Educate patients regarding treatments and medications
- Maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR)
Billing & Administrative Duties
- Verify insurance eligibility and benefits
- Obtain prior authorizations when needed
- Submit electronic claims and monitor claim status
- Follow up on denied and unpaid claims
- Post insurance and patient payments
- Process patient balances and collections
- Review documentation for billing accuracy and compliance
- Schedule appointments and answer incoming calls
- Assist with check-in/check-out and front desk operations
Qualifications
- Medical Assistant certification preferred (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or equivalent)
- Medical billing and coding experience strongly preferred
- Minimum 1 year experience in a medical office preferred
- Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding
- Experience with EMR/EHR systems
- Strong computer and communication skills
- Excellent customer service and organizational abilities
- Ability to multitask and work independently
- Bilingual (English/Spanish or English/Haitian Creole) is a plus
