POSITION SUMMARY: The Operations Assistant supports the day-to-day operations of Meals on Wheels and Mid-City Concerns Senior Center, including assisting with programs and activities, creating a welcoming, friendly environment for our patrons. This flexible role is perfect for someone who enjoys variety and making a direct impact in the community.

The essential functions of the position include but are not limited to the following:
Senior Center:
1. Assists with record keeping: Maintain accurate records of attendance, membership, and member participation.
2. Document client interactions and maintain confidentiality protecting member privacy and ensuring accuracy. Including details such as the type of interaction, topics discussed, and actions taken.
3. Supports daily activities and special events, encouraging members’ participation and providing support to those who need assistance.
4. Provide coverage when Senior Center Manager is unavailable.
Meal Service/Meals on Wheels:
5. Assist with preparation and dispersion of secondary programming materials.
6. Assist with volunteer coverage. This includes driving, assisting with bag dispersion, and program materials.
7. Provide coverage when Operations staff is unavailable.
SECONDARY FUNCTIONS:
1. Accept and distribute donations as needed.
2. Prepare and pack milk bags and weekend frozen bags as needed.
3. May assist with senior center meal service as needed.
4. Attend & staff company fundraising events throughout the year
5. May assist in other departments as necessary.
6. Performs all other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

Education and/or Experience: To perform this job successfully, an individual must have:
· A High School Diploma/GED preferred
· Demonstrated superior customer service skills including the ability to perceive needs and respond appropriately to a highly diverse community.
Certificates and/or Licenses: To perform this job successfully, an individual must:
· Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record and meet all regulatory requirements for driving.
· Food Handler’s Permit or willingness to obtain
· Successfully pass background check applicable to position
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical Requirements: In order to meet all expectations of this position, an individual must be able to:

· Near Acuity Clearly see 20+ feet, with or without corrective lenses.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
· Hourly Part-time, non-exempt position: 20-25 hours/week
· Salary Range: $18.00 - $20.00 DOE
· Mileage reimbursement at set rate
WORKPLACE ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
This position involves frequent driving as a primary duty, including traveling throughout the service area. Driving may occur in varying traffic, road, and weather conditions.
Work also takes place in an office environment and may include prolonged periods of sitting, standing, using a computer, and operating standard office equipment.
The role requires regular interaction with staff, volunteers, and program participants, including seniors and other vulnerable populations. All interactions must be conducted with professionalism, respect, and adherence to confidentiality requirements.
The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., though occasional adjustments may be required to meet program needs.
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
