Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and presentation standards, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Assist in menu planning by providing input on ingredient selection and dish execution.
- Handle food with care, maintaining proper food safety and sanitation protocols at all times.
- Use knife skills and culinary techniques to prepare ingredients efficiently and accurately.
- Support food handling procedures during meal preparation, ensuring compliance with health regulations.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate food service during busy periods, maintaining a smooth workflow.
- Assist with catering events or special functions by preparing large quantities of food while maintaining quality standards.
- Maintain cleanliness of work stations, equipment, and utensils to ensure a safe and organized kitchen environment.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is highly desirable.
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or restaurant settings demonstrating strong kitchen skills.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling techniques.
- Experience with menu planning and meal preparation in fine dining or catering environments.
- Excellent knife skills with the ability to handle various kitchen tools safely and efficiently.
- Strong understanding of the food industry’s best practices for cleanliness, sanitation, and safety.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
