EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
This position supports the safe management of storage tanks and helps ensure that facilities follow state environmental laws. The primary focus of your work will entail conducting inspections, enforcement activities, and providing guidance to the public and regulated community. As an Environmental Protection Compliance Specialist, you will perform the following duties:
Case Review: Research case files and prepare documentation to support enforcement actions-
Inspection Work: Conduct inspections, investigations, and surveys at storage tank facilities

Compliance Support: Provide guidance to facility owners, agencies, and the public on storage tank requirements

Enforcement Actions: Prepare violation notices, orders, and penalty assessments for compliance cases

Meeting Coordination: Participate in enforcement meetings and discuss cases with legal staff and program managers

Regulation Evaluation: Review legislation, policies, and guidance related to storage tank compliance programs

Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

Travel is required.

Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Pittsburgh. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
