Job Summary
We are seeking a Staff Accountant with experience preparing individual (1040), small business, and corporate tax returns. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, tech‑savvy, and comfortable managing a diverse client workload throughout the year.
This role also includes bookkeeping tasks, client communication, and participation in process improvements as our firm continues to expand.
Duties
Tax Preparation
- Prepare and review individual, partnership, S‑corporation, and C‑corporation tax returns
- Assist with tax planning, projections, and year-end strategies
- Work directly with clients to gather documents, clarify questions, and ensure timely filing
- Stay current on tax changes and compliance requirements
Bookkeeping & Accounting
- Perform monthly bookkeeping for small business clients
- Reconcile accounts, categorize transactions, and prepare financial statements
- Assist with year-end closing and cleanup projects
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in public accounting or tax preparation
- Experience preparing corporate, small business, and individual returns
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and Excel
- Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and client requests
Preferred
- Experience with CCH Axcess and Karbon CRM
- Bookkeeping experience supporting small business clients
- Exposure to multi-entity returns, bookkeeping cleanup, or year-end adjustments
Pay: $72,840.23 - $85,000.00 per year
