Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes, ensuring consistency and quality in every dish
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, fryers, slicers, and knives with expert slicing techniques
- Follow food safety standards diligently, managing proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices
- Assist in menu planning by preparing ingredients and contributing ideas for new dishes or specials
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and cooking areas through regular cleaning and sanitizing
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and ensure timely service
- Support catering events by preparing large quantities of food while adhering to recipe specifications and safety protocols
Experience
- Previous experience working in a restaurant or food service environment is highly preferred
- Demonstrated culinary experience with strong knife skills and slicing techniques
- Familiarity with food safety management practices and safety standards in production environments
- Experience with food industry operations including food handling, meal preparation, and serving processes
- Background in dietary department or dietary aide roles is a plus but not required
- Ability to communicate effectively with kitchen staff to ensure smooth workflow and high-quality output
- Knowledge of catering procedures and experience supporting large-scale meal service
