Illuminate Educational Therapy Group is seeking a passionate Learning Specialist to join our growing private practice. This is an opportunity to make a lasting impact by providing individualized support to students with diverse learning needs.
Please Note: Applicants must currently reside in Los Angeles or the surrounding area to be considered.
About the Role
Provide individualized 1:1 academic support to students throughout Santa Monica, Beverly Hills, West LA, Sherman Oaks, Calabasas, and surrounding communities.
You'll work with students with a variety of learning differences, including:
- ADHD and executive functioning challenges
- Dyslexia and dysgraphia
- Other diverse learning profiles
Using research-based, individualized strategies, you'll help students build academic skills, confidence, and independence.
Qualifications
- BA in Special Education or currently enrolled in/completed a Post-MA Certificate program
- Experience with one or more of the following:
- Orton-Gillingham
- Barton
- Wilson Reading System
- Lindamood-Bell
- Handwriting Without Tears
- Familiarity with Guided Reading and multisensory instruction
- Experience working with Twice-Exceptional (2e) students is a plus
- Excellent communication, organization, and documentation skills
- Warm, engaging personality with the ability to build strong relationships with students
Responsibilities
- Provide individualized academic intervention and coaching
- Develop learning goals based on neuropsychological evaluations
- Track student progress and maintain documentation
- Communicate regularly with families, teachers, and allied professionals
- Adapt instructional strategies to each student's unique learning profile
