Career Start is currently seeking a CNC Mill Machinist in Rochester, NY. To be considered for this CNC Mill Machinist position, candidates must have a minimum of 2-5 years of CNC milling experience and the ability to maintain tight tolerances while producing high-quality precision components. The CNC Mill Machinist will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC milling equipment while ensuring products meet customer specifications and quality standards.
Shifts: B-Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM Shift diff 10% | C-Shift: 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM Shift diff 15%
Responsibilities of the CNC Mill Machinist:
- Set up, operate, and monitor CNC milling machines to produce parts according to blueprint specifications and customer requirements.
- Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, and height gauges.
- Adjust machine offsets and tooling as needed to maintain required tolerances and product quality.
- Complete preventative maintenance, daily machine checks, and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Collaborate with supervisors, programmers, and other departments to ensure efficient production and workflow.
Requirements of the CNC Mill Machinist:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 2-5 years of experience operating Horizontal and Vertical CNC milling equipment.
- Ability to hold tolerances between .001" and .005" and perform precision machining work.
- Proficiency with measuring instruments and shop math calculations.
- Blueprint reading skills and experience with Fanuc and Haas controls preferred.
