This role involves providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced, supportive environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in various healthcare settings, including long-term care, acute care, and specialized units such as behavioral or memory care. A strong understanding of medical documentation, vital signs, and patient safety protocols is essential. Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts.
- Monitor and record vital signs accurately using EMR/EHR systems while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed under the supervision of nursing staff, ensuring proper documentation.
- Support patients with specialized needs such as dementia, Alzheimer's, or behavioral health conditions through compassionate care strategies.
- Assist with medical procedures including catheter care, phlebotomy, and aseptic techniques in various clinical settings like hospitals or outpatient clinics.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans for diverse patient populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, and individuals with disabilities.
- Maintain a safe environment by adhering to infection control protocols and safety standards across different units such as ICU, trauma centers, or post-acute care facilities.
- Assist in patient transfers and positioning using appropriate equipment like Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices.
- Document all patient interactions thoroughly in medical records ensuring accuracy and compliance with healthcare regulations.
Skills
- Proven experience with EMR/EHR systems such as Cerner, eClinicalWorks, or similar platforms.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and patient care procedures across various specialties including ICU, emergency medicine, hospice, and behavioral health.
- Experience working with specialized populations such as those requiring Alzheimer’s or dementia care, memory care, or developmental disabilities.
- Ability to perform basic life support (BLS) and demonstrate proficiency in infection control practices including aseptic technique.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with healthcare teams and provide compassionate patient-centered care.
- Critical thinking skills for assessing patient needs and responding appropriately in urgent or complex situations.
- Ability to work independently during night shifts while maintaining high standards of safety and quality of care.
