The Low-Voltage Technician installs, maintains, and troubleshoots the community's low-voltage and connected-building systems (smart locks and access control, thermostats, cameras, video doorbells, network and data, and amenity AV), keeping Apple Mountain's technology reliable and secure.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Install, program, and service smart locks and access-control systems; audit smart-lock access on every unit turn
- Install and troubleshoot smart and programmable thermostats
- Install, aim, and maintain cameras/CCTV, video doorbells, and recording systems
- Run and terminate structured cabling and data drops (Cat5e/6, coax); label and document runs
- Support community WiFi, access points, and switches; perform basic network troubleshooting
- Maintain gate/entry, intercom, and call-box systems
- Install and service amenity AV (TVs, sound) in the clubhouse and common areas
- Wire and test low-voltage alarm and sensor devices; coordinate with vendors on larger systems
- Maintain access and credential records in the property management system; keep wiring as-builts current
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- 2+ years of low-voltage, structured cabling, security/access-control, or IT/AV experience
- Familiar with smart locks and access control, IP cameras, networking basics, and cabling standards
- Georgia low-voltage license (per state requirements), or BICSI/CompTIA/manufacturer certifications, a strong plus
- Comfortable reading wiring diagrams; safe with tools and ladders
- Valid driver's license; able to work weekends and participate in an on-call rotation
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Able to lift up to 50 lbs; work on ladders and in attics and crawlspaces; indoors and outdoors in varying weather.
Pay: $20–25/hour depending on experience. Reports to Clint Kram, Maintenance Supervisor. Full-time, weekend availability and on-call rotation.
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
