Wiskerchen Cheese, Inc. is hiring a bilingual (English/Spanish) Quality Assurance Technician to support our 1st Shift QA & Lab Manager. This position is scheduled Monday through Thursday, plus every other Friday.
Quality Assurance Technician inspects and tests manufactured goods so that they are safe to use, and meets or exceeds acceptable tolerances.
Job Responsibilities
· Perform daily quality checks on refrigeration and cooling systems. This involves checking process thermometers against a calibrated lab thermometer via comparison methods
· Perform daily testing of cheese samples. Samples are tested for moisture, fat, salt, and pH using a near-infrared food quantifier
· Prepare and perform weekly pre-operational and environmental sampling
· Complete and review verification of paperwork
· Complete monthly internal audits of Wiskerchen Cheese Inc
· Assist implementation of Wiskerchen Cheese Inc.’s Food Safety and Quality programs
· Monitor and verify cleaning and sanitation of all departments in accordance with Wiskerchen Cheese Inc.’s cleaning schedule to verify effectiveness
· Miscellaneous duties as assigned by Quality Assurance Manager
· Ongoing communication with laboratories
Experience and Education
· Must have excellent work ethic, consistent attendance, and must be able to work
· Good hand dexterity
· Understand and obey all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
· Understand and obey all SOP’s
· Proper safety (PPE) must be worn at all times to ensure a safe working environment safe working environment
· Food/dairy/manufacturing experience an asset
· Good hand-eye coordination
· Ability to multitask
· Ability to read, write and perform basic math

· Floors may be slippery at times (Non slip boots required)
· Working with and around chemicals (PPE provided)
· Repetitive movements (e.g. twisting gripping, lifting, bending and reaching)
