About the Role & Company
We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Director of Integrity Oil & Gas Services to spearhead the comprehensive management and growth of our specialized oil and gas survey division. In this executive leadership capacity, we expect this individual to own the entire operation, effectively bridging the gap between our project management teams overseeing field operations and the high-level engineering risk analysis our clients rely on. This role is pivotal in cultivating premier relationships with major midstream and upstream operators while overseeing all financial, technical, regulatory, and personnel facets of the integrity services department to ensure long-term organizational growth.
Director Responsibilities
- Lead the entire lifecycle and strategic direction of large-scale oil and gas survey projects, empowering project managers to execute sophisticated proposals, contract negotiations, and rigorous schedules while maximizing divisional profit margins.
- Act as the ultimate technical and regulatory authority for the division, overseeing project managers and data leads to ensure all field data collection, including geographic information systems (GIS), cathodic protection, depth-of-cover, and in-line inspections, is translated into accurate, audit-ready fitness-for-service reports.
- Proactively identify and secure new business opportunities, expanding our market share in the oil and gas sector while serving as the primary executive point of contact for key client accounts and regulatory stakeholders.
- Manage department-level financial health and full P&L accountability, supervising project managers' project budgets, meticulous budget forecasting, team utilization tracking, pre-bill reconciliation, and collaboration with accounting to optimize high-value billing cycles.
- Direct the recruitment, hiring, and retention of elite technical talent; act as a lead mentor to project managers and senior engineers, guiding them in leadership development, risk-based inspection (RBI) methodologies, and non-destructive testing (NDT) data evaluation frameworks.
- Coordinate cross-functionally with other senior executives on corporate resource scheduling, oversee project managers in their tracking of specialized sub-consultants, and ensure strict compliance with company QA/QC procedures and safety protocols across all distributed project sites.
- Serve as the primary representative during regulatory audits, ensuring all division deliverables fully align with federal Department of Transportation (DOT) pipeline safety regulations.
Qualifications & Requirements
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, or Materials), Geomatics, or a closely related technical field is preferred, or equivalent work experience.
- Significant progressive experience in pipeline or asset integrity operations (typically exceeding 7 to 10 years) is expected, with a minimum of 3 to 5 years spent in a dedicated senior management or directorial capacity running an integrity department.
- Expert-level in advanced GIS data integration, a proven track record of managing project managers, multi-disciplinary technical office teams, and large-scale divisional operations.
- Exceptional negotiation, verbal presentation, and technical report-writing skills, with a proven ability to interpret complex data for corporate clients and regulatory bodies.
- Must be a decisive, self-reliant executive leader with a "big picture" mentality and the corporate acumen to drive results and manage divisional budgets in a changing market.
- A valid driver’s license and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) are mandatory for occasional travel to client sites or corporate meetings.
- Candidates must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening and a comprehensive 7-year criminal history background check.
