Job Overview
ACT, member of Vestas aircoil group, is seeking a Purchasing Assistant to join our purchasing team. This role focuses on the quoting and operational aspects of purchasing, communicating with vendors and maintaining job requirements for production.
The ideal candidate possesses experience in purchasing or administrative functions, demonstrates the ability to interpret fabrication drawings, understands socio-economic dynamics, and takes pride in producing high quality results.
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Requesting and comparing quotes from multiple sources, often for multiple projects at a time.
Comparing the costs and needs of each quote/order, and verifying the cost is accurate with group level discounts.
Tracking incoming orders of material and following up with the vendor for timely updates.
Keeping the Sales team updated on jobs that may be affected by delays.
Assisting in monitoring inventory levels of stock product and accurately tracking usage.
Assisting in picking material for the production team to be used on a job.
Updating the job board and job spreadsheet with delivery dates of material.
Required Qualifications
Must have 1+ years of Administrative experience
Preferred: 3+ years in purchasing role or similar
Must have experience with ERP Systems (Preferred: Quickbooks, AX) and a willingness to learn
Experience in Logistics (shipping and receiving)
Preferred: understanding of tariffs, duties, and HS Codes
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word Docs, Outlook, and Teams
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry, documentation
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to resolve discrepancies in orders
Strong organizational skills and time management skills to prioritize needs
Familiarity with inventory management systems and stock tracking

Pay: $18.00 - $28.00 per hour
