inTech Trailers is an innovative, growing company located in Nappanee, IN. We are known for building high quality aluminum trailers and specialize in high-end Motorsports trailers, custom lab trailers and a very unique RV product offering. We manufacture products we would want to purchase ourselves. We are currently in the process of expanding our engineering department and are looking for the right candidate to help take our products, processes and people to the next level.

The Director of Engineering will be responsible for overseeing daily workflow and project management for a wide range of products. We are looking for a team-oriented individual who will provide leadership and direction for the engineering department. This individual must be detail and organized but also self-motivated with a strong desire to get stuf done. The individual has to be able to see the bigger picture, but also be able and willing to get into the weeds to help when needed. Our management team is united in this approach to leading, we have built the respect of the team by being willing to come alongside and learn and work together, instead of just leading from above. This structure also helps drive more change by having strong visibility and knowledge on the actual work.
Specific Job Responsibilities would include:
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of the engineering team, both collectively and individually to ensure standards and processes are followed, thus creating a high quality of work.
- Balance daily engineering tasks and projects to meet current demand while also progressing and completing short and long term projects.
- Provide guidance and support to promote professional development of team and accomplish department objectives.
- Encourage a team atmosphere that builds strong relationships and communication within the department and across all departments including sales, purchasing and production staff.
- Come alongside the team to learn the work. Improve existing processes and create new processes to gain efficiency within the department and more clearly define responsibilities and expectations with real world knowledge of the work.
Required Skills/Experience:
- Highly skilled in the use of Solidworks
- Solid understanding of manufacturing and fabrication construction processes and methods
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong computer and MS Office skills
- RV or Trailer design experience preferred
- Weldments experience preferred
- Knowledge of applicable codes and compliance issues preferred
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering preferred
Salary position with profit sharing bonus places overall compensation between $130k-160K first year. Compensation rates may vary based on skill set and experience level.
