Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in nutrition or related field, knowledge of child development, experience with federal and state guidelines and procedures; will consider AA degree if applicant is currently enrolled in a BA program
- Fluent in more than one language (Spanish preferably)

Tasks Provide nutrition education and training for staff and parents
- Conduct training for teachers in family-style meal service
- Provide nutrition handouts and menus for parents
- Provide nutrition training for parents quarterly
Quality Management
- Conduct weekly meetings with food coordinators at each site
- Conduct weekly nutrition education lessons for children
- Ensure safety and sanitation procedures are effective
- Ensure meal preparation procedures meet or exceed required Health guidelines
- Ensure proper care and cleaning of kitchen equipment
Complete Nutrition Assessment on all children * Complete Nutrition Assessment form at or within 30 days of enrollment
- Counsel parents on meting special nutritional needs and nutritional problems
- Complete two height and weight assessments per year on each child
Record Keeping
- Assist with daily meal count and attendance records weekly
- Provide a written schedule and summary of weekly assignments to coordinator Program Services
- Sign a time sheet form at each location
Assist Site Manager with hiring food service coordinators (parents, volunteers)
- Works with Family Advocate to enlist parents interested in working in the kitchen
- Train volunteers in basic food handling procedures
Food Service Contracts
- Actively network with HSGD and potential food service vendors on an ongoing basis
- Actively foster continued strong relationship with TDA Region 10 Food Program Advisor as a key resource for ongoing MEP program guidance
- Serve as project lead organization’s expert and collaborate with finance team for the following:
- Annual renewal of the TDA CACEP grant including data compilation and completion of the online TX-UNPS application
- Annual (every 2 years) TDA Audit/Administrative Review including data compilation, coordination with TDA auditor and completion of any related Corrective Action Plan on findings
Conduct annual training on Civil Rights at beginning of year orientation and train all
new staff on Civil Rights and other CACFP duties.
Team Management of Food Coordinators
- Meet regularly to define standards of good nutrition and health
- Train coordinators
- Purchase orders determined for each location
Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
