Position Summary
The Buyer is responsible for planning, sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing merchandise, equipment, supplies, and operational materials required to support the daily operations of the company's garages, convenience stores, and wholesale distribution activities. This position ensures product availability while maintaining optimal inventory levels, controlling costs, and establishing strong relationships with suppliers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan and execute the procurement of merchandise, equipment, automotive products, and operational supplies.
- Analyze inventory levels, sales trends, and demand forecasts to determine purchasing requirements.
- Issue purchase orders accurately and ensure compliance with company purchasing policies.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, rebates, and contracts with suppliers.
- Identify, evaluate, and develop relationships with new vendors while maintaining existing supplier partnerships.
- Monitor open purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of goods.
- Coordinate with warehouse, logistics, and store operations to ensure efficient receipt and distribution of merchandise.
- Resolve discrepancies involving shipments, invoices, damaged goods, shortages, and vendor claims.
- Monitor inventory turnover and recommend replenishment strategies to minimize stock shortages and overstock situations.
- Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, pricing, service, and delivery performance.
- Research market trends and identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve purchasing efficiency.
- Prepare purchasing reports, vendor performance analyses, and cost-saving initiatives for management.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records, contracts, pricing agreements, and supplier databases.
- Collaborate with Operations, Finance, Sales, and Inventory Control to support business objectives.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procurement procedures, and applicable regulations.
Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour
