Warehouse Lead in Manufacturing Plant $23-26 an hour
Days Mon- Fri 6:15am-4pm
Position Summary:
The Warehouse Lead is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse operations, inventory accuracy, material movement, receiving activities, housekeeping standards, and employee leadership. This role ensures the warehouse operates safely, efficiently, and accurately while supporting production, shipping, receiving, and inventory control processes. The Warehouse Lead serves as the primary point of contact for warehouse activities and provides daily operational updates through Gemba board reporting. The Receiving Lead is expected to be fully cross trained in warehouse operations, including Wrapper and Material Handler functions, and must be prepared to provide coverage and hands-on support whenever operational needs require

Minimum of 2 years of experience leading warehouse employees in a manufacturing, distribution, or warehousing environment.

Strong inventory control and cycle count experience.

Experience with warehouse management systems and inventory software.

Ability to operate forklifts and understand safe material handling practices.

Experience supervising and directing warehouse personnel.

Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and ADP timekeeping systems.

Warehouse Operations & Safety

Conduct daily warehouse walkthroughs to ensure a safe, organized, and efficient work environment.

Inspect warehouse racks and storage areas for safety concerns and report any damage immediately.

Monitor housekeeping standards throughout the warehouse and ensure compliance with company expectations.

Ensure all forklift operators follow safety procedures and company policies.

Perform daily inspections of forklifts and material handling equipment and report maintenance issues as necessary.
Inventory Control

Perform daily inventory counts, including:
-
Pallet inventory
-
Wallcore inventory
-
Precut inventory
-
Complete daily cycle counts to maintain inventory accuracy.

Perform daily inventory audits for Press and Lamination departments.

Research and resolve inventory discrepancies.
-
Review and investigate aged Work-In-Process (WIP) inventory with Amy and Roger to ensure system accuracy.
Production Reporting

Count and document finished goods pallets produced during each overnight shift.

Gather daily operational metrics and inventory data for presentation during morning Gemba meetings.

Maintain accurate reporting records and communicate key warehouse performance indicators.
Receiving & Material Management
-
Receive Purchase Orders (POs) into Radius as incoming trucks arrive.

Verify deliveries against receiving documentation and investigate discrepancies.
-
Coordinate material movement and storage within the warehouse.
-
Assist in managing packaging materials and inventory requirements.
Leadership & Team Oversight

Provide daily supervision and support for Warehouse Wrappers and Material Handlers.

Ensure employees are performing assigned duties safely and efficiently.

Assist team members with daily operational functions and workload management.
-
Coach employees on best practices and company procedures.
-
Promote teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement within the warehouse.
Administrative Duties
-
Review and approve employee timesheets in ADP.

Maintain accurate warehouse records and operational documentation.
-
Communicate operational issues and improvement opportunities to management.
Coordination & Support
-
Deliver incoming packages to the appropriate personnel within the facility.
-
Work closely with David regarding recycling truck scheduling and recycling-related issues.
-
Coordinate with production, inventory, purchasing, and leadership teams to support operational goals.
Performance Requirements:
-
Adherence and alignment to PPC's Safety Culture and objective of Zero Safety Incidents. Adherence to GMP and food safety standards, with no repeat violations.

Complete 90 days from date of hire without more than 2 shipping/receiving paperwork errors, and every subsequent quarter thereafter.
-
Achieve no more than 1 instance of downtime at any asset within the first 90 days, and every subsequent quarter thereafter. This relates to the Early Warning System (EWS) and transfers for film from office warehouse(s) to Plant inventory

No more than 2 attendance points in the first 90 days from date of hire and maintain less than 8 points at any given time after first 90 days.

Completion of assigned Housekeeping duties. Must work with the Maintenance Team to ensure forklift watering is getting done. Provide proper care to the lifts that results in zero damage to the batteries or lifts themselves, materials, equipment and building assets.

Experience using Radius ERP or similar manufacturing/warehouse software.

Experience in a manufacturing environment.

Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Gemba reporting processes.
Working Conditions and/or Physical Requirements:

Must be able to lift and ensure proper handling of items up to 75 pounds.

Must be capable of standing for the duration of a work shift less breaks and lunch.

Local travel will be required; must travel as needed.

Must be capable and willing to work in excess of a normal workweek with notice, as outlined in the Personnel Handbook, as shipping/receiving demands dictate.

Must be able to distinguish and ensure product quality in a fast-paced production environment.

Must be able to identify, prioritize, and meet multiple expectations for area of responsibility.

Must have the physical dexterity to bend, stand, flex, and reach as the position dictates.
