We are seeking an experienced and strategic Medical Human Resources Director to lead all aspects of human resources for our healthcare organization. The ideal candidate will oversee recruitment, employee relations, compliance, performance management, compensation, benefits, workforce planning, and organizational development while ensuring adherence to all federal, state, and healthcare regulatory requirements.
The Medical Human Resources Director serves as a trusted advisor to executive leadership and is responsible for fostering a positive workplace culture that supports exceptional patient care through engaged, high-performing employees.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the organization's mission and business objectives.
- Direct all recruitment, hiring, onboarding, retention, and workforce planning initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare employment regulations, including HIPAA, FMLA, ADA, OSHA, EEOC, and applicable state labor laws.
- Lead employee relations efforts, including conflict resolution, investigations, coaching, and corrective actions.
- Manage compensation, benefits administration, salary benchmarking, and performance evaluation programs.
- Develop policies and procedures that support operational excellence and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative leadership to address staffing needs and organizational development.
- Oversee credentialing support and workforce compliance initiatives as applicable.
- Monitor HR metrics, turnover, retention, and employee engagement data to identify improvement opportunities.
- Lead leadership development, succession planning, and employee training initiatives.
- Manage HR staff and departmental budget.
- Promote diversity, equity, inclusion, and a culture of professionalism and respect.
- Ensure timely completion of required employment documentation and personnel records.
Qualifications Required
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive Human Resources experience.
- At least 2 years of HR leadership experience in a healthcare, hospital, physician practice, or medical organization.
- Thorough knowledge of employment law and healthcare regulations.
- Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Experience with HRIS systems, payroll platforms, and applicant tracking systems.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
Preferred
- Professional HR certification such as SHRM-SCP, SHRM-CP, SPHR, or PHR.
- Experience with CMS, Federal & State of Missouri regulations or other healthcare accreditation standards.
- Knowledge of physician recruitment and healthcare workforce planning.
