Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify speech and language disorders
- Develop Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s unique needs and goals
- Conduct and/or participate in annual IEP meetings with parents, teachers, school staff, and administration
- Function as a member of the Multi-Tier System of Supports (MTSS) Team to screen, monitor, and facilitate appropriate interventions for at-risk students
- Implement evidence-based therapy techniques to improve communication abilities across diverse populations
- Monitor progress regularly and adjust therapy strategies to optimize outcomes
- Collaborate with families, caregivers, educators, and healthcare professionals to ensure cohesive support
- Maintain detailed documentation of evaluations, treatment sessions, progress notes, and reports in compliance with regulatory standards
- Educate students, parents, and school staff and on strategies to enhance communication skills in daily life
Requirements
- Master’s degree or higher in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Valid licensure in the state of Florida and certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist (CF / CCC)
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and engage clients effectively
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for clear documentation and collaboration
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with best practices in speech-language pathology
