With centralized drayage offices in Houston and Chicago, our mission is to deliver reliable, tailored logistics services for a wide range of clients.
Our drayage department operates both company trucks and owner-operators in Houston, supported by our owned and leased chassis fleet. After five successful years of growth, we’re ready to expand further—and we need you to help us lead the way.
The Opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Terminal Manager to drive the growth of our drayage, warehousing, and 3PL services in Houston. The ideal candidate will have a proven background in intermodal drayage, transloading, and 3PL operations, with the ability to develop new business while optimizing our current operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Business Development: Identify and secure new business opportunities for drayage, transloading, warehousing, and brokerage services.
- Client Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships to ensure clients’ logistics needs are met efficiently and effectively.
- Operational Oversight: Collaborate with operations teams to deliver seamless service and improve efficiencies.
- Sales & KPIs: Meet and exceed sales targets and performance goals set by management.
- Fleet & Contractor Management:
- Recruit and retain contractors to grow our fleet.
- Resolve issues related to pay, dispatch, or driver retention.
- Provide training and guidance to ensure owner-operators and employees meet company expectations.
Daily Operations:
- Monitor freight levels, on-time pickups/deliveries, and load rates.
- Coordinate with other terminals to ensure service standards are met.
- Maintain compliance with warehouse and yard safety, dispatch procedures, and landlord instructions.
Profitability Management:
- Analyze costs, optimize rates, and improve profitability through revenue maximization and expense control.
- Prepare and analyze reports on terminal performance, growth, and profitability.
Regulatory Awareness:
- Stay updated on industry regulations, best practices, and market changes impacting drayage and logistics.
Qualifications:
- Proven leadership experience in intermodal drayage, warehousing, and 3PL operations.
- Sales/business development experience within the logistics industry, preferably with a strong network of clients and partners.
- Strong knowledge of freight forwarding, transloading, multimodal transportation, and regulatory compliance.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Proficient in using CRM software, Microsoft Office Suite, and operational tracking systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, or a related field (preferred, but not required).
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
