Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Clinical Office Assistant - Patient Coordinator to join our team. In this vital role, you will work directly with patients to coordinate and schedule appointment for GI procedures, serve as a point of contact for patients with questions related to procedures, manage clinical documentation, and support medical administrative functions. Your proactive approach will ensure smooth clinic operations, excellent patient service, and accurate medical record management.
Responsibilities
- Schedule patient appointments using the Epic EMR (Electronic Medical Record) system for office visits, tests and procedures as part of the treatment plan
- Communicate directly with patients over the phone and in person in regards to treatment plan, education in preparation for procedures and address insurance/financial questions or concerns.
- Support clinical staff by managing phone inquiries with professional phone etiquette and multi-line phone system operation
- Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility and benefits verification, and assist with insurance claims processing
- Collect and process patient payments, including medical billing and collection activities
- Maintain accurate medical records by reviewing documentation for completeness and compliance with HIPAA regulations
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a medical office setting, including front desk or administrative support roles in clinics or hospitals
- Strong knowledge of EMR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, or similar platforms
- Ability to work well under pressure with minimal supervision. Proven flexibility and willingness to handle a variety of tasks
- Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy in typing and filing tasks
- Must have the ability to exercise a high degree of diplomacy and tact; excellent customer services and interpersonal communication skills; Cultural sensitivity and demonstrated ability to work with diverse people groups

Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour
