Job Overview: The Bartender at Sunnies will be responsible for greeting customers and bar guests, taking food and drink orders, and delivering them in a timely manner. Bartenders are responsible for providing excellent customer service by being attentive, answering questions, and resolving issues while maintaining a clean bar area. The bartenders at Sunnies are expected to contribute to the beverage by assisting in the creation and development of new cocktails. A key part of the role is also accurately handling payments and collaborating with kitchen and bar staff to ensure order accuracy and guest satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Guest Welcoming & Greeting: As a bartender, you are expected to treat each guest as if they are being welcomed into your own home. Be able to adjust to the needs of each guest, and be flexible and willing to go the extra mile.
Menu Knowledge: Possess a comprehensive and up-to-date knowledge of all restaurant menus, food and drink. Be able to answer questions about top sellers, be able to build a dining experience, and be aware of all potential allergies and dish modifications.
Craft Expertise: Be a student of the trade. Know classic cocktails, wine, beer, and spirits. Be able to hold down a busy or slow bar top and give guests an experience that they'll be bragging to their friends about.
Communication: Have excellent communication skills. Maintain open communication with the kitchen and management staff.
Support & Collaboration: Assist your fellow team members during busy periods, help with side work such as cleaning, and coordinate with kitchen staff about available seating.
Front-of-House Maintenance: Keep the bar and workstations clean and organized, and always help where help is needed.
Qualifications:
Previous bartending experience, preferably having worked with Toast.
Customer Service: Friendly, outgoing, and excellent communication skills are necessary to create a positive first impression.
Organization & Multitasking: Ability to manage multiple tasks, bar guests, and drink orders efficiently.
Adaptability: Maintain a calm and composed demeanor, especially under pressure during busy rushes.
Teamwork: Willingness to help fellow staff members and other departments.
Availability: Often requires availability for nights, weekends, and holidays.
