JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for building effective, authentic relationships with children, parents, volunteers and staff; greeting and becoming familiar with parents and their children by name.

Supervising and leading program participants in accordance with YMCA guidelines; preparing and executing lesson plans accordingly.

Beginning and ending program on time; remaining after program to answer participant or parent questions as needed.

Conveying information on youth & family programs and schedules and as appropriate; referring students and parents to other programs.

Gathering feedback from members and sharing with supervisor to improve service.

Completing daily cleaning duties and additional as deemed necessary.

Setting-up and cleaning-up program area; reporting any facility or equipment irregularities, unsafe conditions or feedback to supervisor verbally and in writing.

Being responsible for the safety and well-being of participants by following and enforcing all YMCA policies, rules, regulations and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures.

Being knowledgeable and prepared to implement emergency procedures.

Reporting all incidents/accidents on the appropriate form as required and provide to supervisor within 24 hours of event.

Submitting completed records on time (i.e. attendance, progress reports).

Attending all required training sessions and scheduled meetings.
-
Maintaining prompt hours and follow established procedures for absences.

Supporting Strong Community Campaign fundraising efforts.

All other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Education/Experience Requirements:
- Minimum age of 18

Minimum one year relevant experience teaching children
Physical/Mental Requirements:
- Must be able to routinely perform the following moderate physical activities; climb stairs, bend, stoop, kneel, twist, reach with hands, sit, walk and stand for extended periods of time, lift and/or move up to 35 pounds, have finger dexterity, grasp, perform repetitive motions, talk, hear and have visual acuity

Must possess and demonstrate a high level of maturity, patience, dependability, sound judgment; and the desire to work with all ages, especially children

Must possess problem solving, organizational and task management skills; ability to make independent and sound decisions in a rapidly changing environment

Complete CPR/AED and First Aid in accordance with Conditions of Employment

Learn all emergency procedures and action plans for the branch as necessary

Understand and abide-by all policies and procedures as set forth by the association

Work a schedule that reflects the needs of the branch; including weekends and evenings
Under the supervision of the Program Director, the Mom’s Day Out Instructor will provide and educational, healthy, safe and fun-filled experience to all individuals enrolled in Mom’s Day Out.
