This job level contains the following positions: Costume Character, Programmer, Specialty Instructor, and Technology Assistant. Please see the Illustrative Examples of Work section below for more information.
Costume Character – Wears themed costume at Department special events.
Programmer – Plans, organizes, and implements a variety of recreation programs at multiple facilities; coordinates with full-time, seasonal, and temporary staff; assists in the preparation of marketing materials, purchasing, and facility reservations. Must be at least 18 years old. CPR/AED and First Aid certification preferred.
Specialty Instructor – Plans and instructs specialized classes/programs. Advanced knowledge of specialty. College/professional experience required. Must obtain CPR/AED and First Aid certification within 30 days of employment. Must be at least 18 years old.
Technology Assistant – Assists in the design and troubleshooting of department software; implements new updates; is aware of technology trends; and trains staff. Minimum two years experience.

NOTE: Advancement to step 1.5 will happen at six months of employment. Advancement to the next step will be considered after one year of employment, if a minimum of 125 hours have been worked and a satisfactory employee evaluation has been obtained.
