Duties
- Assist with food preparation by chopping, peeling, measuring, and organizing ingredients efficiently.
- Support cooking processes by following recipes and instructions from chefs or kitchen supervisors.
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and equipment to uphold food safety standards.
- Handle food safely by practicing proper food handling techniques and adhering to hygiene protocols.
- Help with meal assembly and plating to ensure timely service during busy periods.
- Support catering events by preparing large quantities of food and ensuring smooth operation.
- Manage inventory by receiving deliveries, storing ingredients properly, and notifying staff of low stock levels.
Experience
- Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment is preferred but not required; enthusiasm to learn is most important!
- Basic cooking skills including knife handling, food preparation, and understanding of kitchen safety procedures.
- Familiarity with food safety standards and proper food handling techniques.
- Experience in the food industry or culinary settings will be advantageous but is not mandatory for entry-level applicants.
- Knowledge of meal preparation, serving practices, and catering operations is a plus.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
