Position Summary
Hounen Solar is seeking an experienced EHS Manager to lead Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs for our manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance, promoting a proactive safety culture, minimizing operational risk, and driving continuous improvement across all EHS functions.
The EHS Manager partners closely with Production, Engineering, Maintenance, HR, Facilities, and Operations leadership to support safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all Environmental, Health & Safety programs in compliance with OSHA, EPA, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve EHS policies, procedures, and management systems.
- Conduct safety inspections, audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations; implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, including hazardous waste, chemical management, wastewater, stormwater, and air emissions.
- Maintain OSHA recordkeeping, environmental permits, regulatory reporting, and required documentation.
- Develop and deliver employee EHS training, including LOTO, Hazard Communication, PPE, Forklift Safety, and Emergency Response.
- Lead emergency preparedness activities, including evacuation planning, spill response, and fire prevention.
- Partner with Engineering and Operations to support new equipment installation, process changes, and contractor safety.
- Monitor EHS performance metrics, support regulatory inspections and customer audits, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Support workers' compensation case management and return-to-work programs in partnership with Human Resources.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field.
- 5+ years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, EPA requirements, and environmental compliance.
- Experience conducting incident investigations, risk assessments, and implementing corrective actions.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively across multiple departments in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in solar, battery, semiconductor, electronics, automotive, or other advanced manufacturing industries.
- Experience supporting startup or greenfield manufacturing facilities.
- CSP, ASP, CHMM, CIH, or other professional EHS certifications.
- Experience with ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001 management systems.
- Experience with EHS management software (Intelex, Cority, VelocityEHS, Enablon, etc.).
- Bilingual English and Mandarin Chinese is a plus.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
