Job Description
Responsible for the movement of materials, supplies and finished goods in the facility or onto trucks manually by hand truck or by forklift. Prepare record of shipments and warehouse to manufacturing operation. Prepare record of shipments and bills of lading for overnight, LTL and truckload carriers.
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
- Helps coordinate & direct warehouse staff’s daily assignments.
- Moves raw materials to the production floor. Utilizes daily production sheets and inventory records to ensure necessary raw materials are available.
- Wraps and straps finished products from the production floor as required. Makes sure that packing is uniform and meets company standards.
- Utilizes material moving equipment to load and off-load trucks as needed. Ensures paperwork is complete and physically checks for defects or missing products.
- Removes scrap materials from production floor and dumps the material into the proper roll-off container. Drains excess oil from scrap bins as needed into proper receptacle.
- Dumps garbage, sweeps floor and cleans oil spills off of the floor.
- Ensures the proper and safe storage of materials by storing chemicals, oils, products, and waste materials, as instructed by the Safety Officer. Updates the hazardous waste log daily.
- Updates inventory records in an accurate manner and will handle making any inventory adjustments that need to be completed.
- Inspects moving equipment on a daily basis (i.e. lift truck)
- Operates material moving equipment in a safe manner as instructed by the Safety Officer. Exercises control of the lift trucks and utilizes proper stacking techniques.
- Willingly takes on new tasks. Flexible to changes in priorities and scheduling. Seeks out work from supervisor when work is slow. Willing to help other employees.
- Follows company policies and applicable safety procedures.
- Maintains satisfactory attendance and punctuality.
- Performs other functions as required.
SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Fork lift training (given on the job)
- English & Math
- Computer Skills
Physical Requirements:
- Lifting up to 40lbs
- Frequent standing, lifting, and walking, leaning over, pushing and pulling.
Specific Knowledge, License, Certifications, Etc.:
- GED or High School Diploma Required.
