Overview: Provides direct and indirect patient care to implement treatment programs under direction of an Occupational Therapist in response to physician referrals and in accordance with a plan of care jointly developed. The scope of practice includes training in the following areas: activities of daily living, functional mobility, upper extremity restoration and splinting, cognitive, and perceptual, family and patient education, psychological (both individual and in group setting). Responsibilities:

Participates in community education initiatives in collaboration with hospital education programs.

Recognizes the need for changes in the plan of care and communicates recommendations promptly to the supervising therapist.

Promotes continuity of care through accurate documentation and effective verbal communication.

Utilizes computer systems proficiently to ensure accurate billing and clinical documentation.

Maintains a professional demeanor and appearance at all times.

Safely and effectively transfers patients with significant physical and/or cognitive impairments.

Responds appropriately and efficiently to Specific Task Requests.

Demonstrates strong clinical competence and sound professional judgment.
Qualifications:
- Prefer two years clinical experience within the last three years.

Previous home health or long-term care experience preferred.

- COTA - Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant
- BLS - Basic Life Saving certification
