Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Assistant Director of Nursing - LVN (Licensed Vocational Nurse) to join our dedicated healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Assist the Director of Nursing in managing daily nursing operations, ensuring smooth shift transitions and optimal staffing levels.
- Supervise and mentor nursing staff, including LVNs and other healthcare professionals, promoting professional development and high-performance standards.
- Oversee the development and implementation of personalized care plans for residents, ensuring they meet individual needs and regulatory requirements.
- Review medical records, documentation, and care documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to facilitate resident care delivery across various settings such as assisted living, home health, hospice, and acute care.
- Monitor adherence to state and federal regulations including Medicare requirements; ensure compliance with documentation review processes and EMR/EHR systems.
- Lead efforts in managing resident’s <PERSON> (personalized care), MDS (Minimum Data Set assessments), and other clinical evaluations to optimize resident outcomes.
- Support shift management by overseeing staffing schedules, ensuring adequate coverage during all hours of operation.
- Maintain medical records with meticulous attention to detail while safeguarding sensitive information in accordance with HIPAA standards.
- Foster a culture of leadership within the nursing team through supervision, coaching, and performance evaluations.
Skills
- Extensive experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, home health services or hospice care environments.
- Proven management skills with supervising experience in a healthcare setting; ability to lead a multidisciplinary team effectively.
- Strong knowledge of nursing administration principles combined with practical experience in nurse management roles.
- Proficiency with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems and EHR (Electronic Health Records) platforms for documentation review and resident data management.
- Deep understanding of physiology and anatomy to support accurate assessments and care planning.
- Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to acute care, hospice services, Medicare regulations, and documentation standards.
- Excellent shift management skills ensuring proper staffing levels while maintaining high-quality resident care.
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance protocols for safeguarding patient information at all times.
- Ability to interpret complex medical records and develop comprehensive care plans aligned with regulatory guidelines.
