Duties
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival, providing a friendly and professional first impression
- Seat guests efficiently, balancing wait times and table availability to optimize flow
- Answer incoming phone calls with excellent phone etiquette, taking reservations and addressing guest inquiries
- Maintain organized waiting lists and communicate wait times clearly to guests
- Assist with guest services by providing menus, answering questions about the restaurant, and ensuring guest comfort
- Support food safety standards by handling guest interactions responsibly and maintaining cleanliness in the host station
Skills
- Proven experience as a host/hostess or in a similar customer service role within a restaurant setting
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse guests
- Excellent organizational skills to manage reservations, waitlists, and seating arrangements effectively
- Basic math skills for handling guest counts, wait times, and billing procedures when necessary
- Ability to uphold food safety standards and maintain a clean, organized work area
- Experience in hospitality or food service environments that emphasizes guest relations and customer satisfaction
