Child Care Resources of Rockland, Inc. (CCRR), the regulatory contract agency for Licensed Child Care Programs in Rockland County, New York, is seeking a Finance Coordinator. The Coordinator will work collaboratively with Administration, CCRR staff, child care program directors, and other agencies in the Child Care Sector.
Responsibilities:
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Prepare and post revenue and expenses, generating invoices and vouchers for clients, suppliers and entities contracting with the Agency for services rendered.
2. Responsible for payroll services and required reporting. Manage and prepare elements for the payroll service of the Agency, liaison with and check and balance for payroll services; review all time cards for accuracy and required verification; enter all pertinent data into the computer payroll program; review time charges to vacation, sick and personal leave and compensatory time accounts; assure secure distribution to individual employees.
3. Record all incoming monies and outgoing monies; prepare appropriate bank deposits and payment reports and corresponding postings by cost center; complete all appropriate documentation and account entries.
4. Set up and maintain, for reporting purposes, spread sheets to track receipts by cost center type.
5. General financial services, filing, and the annual audit.
6. Responsible for collecting outstanding invoices and resolving payment disputes. This includes, but is not limited to, training and contract payments.
7. Participate in community events and visibilities.
Qualifications:
Required:
Associate’s degree in accounting, Financial Management, Business or related field required; Bachelor’s degree preferred; and at least three years’ experience in accounting, fiscal management, business or related field required. Computer literate; proficiency knowledge of spreadsheets and associated software; accounting competency; cash management knowledge; employee benefit administration competency; verbal and written communication skills; experience in not-for-profit business environments.
Rockland County is a diverse county made up of various ethnic and cultural backgrounds. Knowledge about or experience with any of Rockland County's diverse cultures is preferred. The ability to speak a second language such as Spanish, Yiddish, Russian or Polish is preferred. Must have valid driver's license and own car. May be needed to work weekends and evenings on occasion.
Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
