About Cusack Masonry Restoration, Inc.
Since 1987 Cusack Masonry Restoration has become a respected commercial masonry restoration contractor serving clients throughout Michigan and surrounding states. The business is transitioning from original founders to the next generation. You will report to a remaining owner who will support you through this transition, help you build the business, and then facilitate his own transition from the business under your leadership with his sons as members of the management team.
The General Manager is the Company's senior business executive responsible for the overall leadership, financial performance, strategic execution, and coordination of all business functions. While reporting to the owner, the General Manager has authority over the day-to-day management of the Company. The general manager will collaborate with the owner on strategic direction and key decisions.

Leadership Context
We are seeking a hands-on general manager to take full control of the business to facilitate that transition and beyond who will drive, professionalize, and grow a successful and self-sustaining business. The business is has a positively recognizable brand in its industry known for quality and well-trained crews. It is consistently profitable with exceptional gross profit and operating profit ratios to build from.
You will be an experienced business leader with the mindset and capabilities of a Chief Executive Officer with business and operational capability. The ideal candidate has successfully managed a business or business unit with full P&L responsibility and has a demonstrated ability to improve profitability, develop leaders, build customer community rapport, implement systems, create continuous improvement, and drive sustainable growth.

Required Background
- Leader or lieutenant (assistant or associate) with previous experience as: General Managers, Presidents of smaller companies, Division Managers, Business Unit Managers, Regional Managers, Vice Presidents of Operations, Entrepreneurs who have built and grown a company, and the like.
- Previous PnL responsibility or associate to PnL responsibility with working knowledge of financial statements and financial analysis and their interpretation.
- Proven production efficiency experience in business process and field crew performance enhancement and continuous improvement.
- Skilled traded knowledge of masonry either by previous masonry work or general construction.
- Knows masonry terms, tools, materials, etc., where we can teach masonry restoration basics.
- A leader who will grow and guide a management team and business functional areas for success.
- Familiarity in construction estimating and bidding, account management, crews and operations, and managerial accounting and finance for decision making.
- With our expressed interest in your candidacy, to assess your business mindset, ability to communicate in writing, your strategic and tactical business and operational thinking, we will ask for a 30, 60, and 90 day and one year plan executive summary, outline, and conclusion.

Preferred Background
- Familiarity with union relations, skilled union crews, and union associated business operations.
- Familiarity with QuickBooks is a plus.
- Working proficiency with spreadsheets to analyze and represent data.
- Specific deliverables include, but not limited to:
- Leadership mentality to define and create a successful and systems-based business.

- Build and execute a strategic business plan.
- Own the Company's Profit & Loss (P&L) and improve profitability.
- Develop and make data-driven decision on budgets, breakeven, and cash flow projections.
- Improve business processes based on ratios, job costing, capacity analysis, and debt leveraging.
- Build and lead a management team through accountability and coaching.
- Train as a priority to build cross-training, skill redundancy, and institutional knowledge.
- Improve estimating, project profitability, scheduling, and financial reporting.
- Develop KPIs and management dashboards that drive decision-making.
- Establish scalable systems, policies, and processes that support future growth.
- Create cultures and systems that foster predictable and consistent outcomes.
- Foster a welcoming work environment that build retention and institutional skill.
- Work with the Owner to develop and execute the Company's long-term vision.
- Lead the business from approximately $3 million to $8 million in annual revenue, then beyond.
- Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence with employees and customers.
- Comfortable in speaking, writing, presenting, and teaching individually, teams, and public.

The successful candidate will have the authority to lead the business while partnering closely with a technical expert Owner to build a stronger, larger, and more valuable company.
Pay: $80,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
