Traditional education systems focus on teaching students what to think. This position exists to train them in how to execute.
Alpha is constructing a fundamentally different high school model—one where students bypass passive lectures and rote memorization. Instead, they build, ship, communicate, and grow. They launch projects, validate ideas, and acquire real-world capabilities that many adults never attain. Your responsibility is ensuring they actually execute these tasks, and execute them at a high standard.
You will engage directly with high school students as they launch businesses, manage projects, and cultivate the confidence, communication skills, and competence necessary for success beyond the classroom. You are not positioned here to deliver theoretical instruction. You are here to coach practical execution. You will establish rigorous expectations, maintain student accountability, and drive them to generate work that meets real-world standards.
This position is designed for individuals who have accomplished something substantive outside academic settings—built a product, scaled an audience, operated within a startup environment, or delivered results in high-velocity contexts—and wish to leverage that experience in developing the next generation. What you will be doing
- Develop practical workshops that teach students methods for building authentic social media audiences
- Provide coaching on content strategy, spanning ideation through optimization leveraging AI tools
- Support students in transforming their personal areas of expertise into marketable brands
- Deliver 1:1 and small group coaching to help students establish goals, maintain consistent execution, and produce tangible outputs
- Maintain student accountability to elevated standards in communication, work quality, and follow-through
- Shepherd students through real-world initiatives (businesses, marketing campaigns, coding projects, etc.) and demand concrete results
- Monitor student advancement across the 3 C's and take corrective action when performance declines
- Maintain clear communication with students and parents regarding progress, performance gaps, and recommended next steps
What you will NOT be doing
- Conducting traditional lectures or adhering to standardized curricula
- Evaluating large volumes of homework or emphasizing theoretical knowledge
- Providing excessive support to unmotivated students or compromising standards for comfort
- Functioning within a slow-moving, bureaucratic educational institution
Key Responsibilities
Generate quantifiable improvement in students' confidence, communication abilities, and real-world competence by coaching them to execute consistently at an elevated level.
Candidate Requirements
- Verified history of significant personal accomplishment in at least one real-world domain: company building, audience growth, revenue generation, research publication, high-level competition, or equivalent achievement
- Proven coaching and mentoring capabilities, with demonstrated ability to inspire teenage students
- 3+ years of experience coaching/mentoring teenagers
- Superior communication and presentation abilities
- Proficiency with AI/technology tools (ChatGPT, Claude, etc.)
- Prepared to work on-site in Austin, TX. Relocation support is provided
- Authorized to work in the US without requiring visa sponsorship
Nice to have
- Specialized expertise in at least one practical field (entrepreneurship, medicine, sales, technology, creative industries, finance, athletics) that you can integrate into sessions and workshops with precision
