Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Press Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating various printing presses, including flexo and screen printing equipment, to produce high-quality print materials. This role requires a strong understanding of print processes, color management, and quality control to ensure that all products meet rigorous standards. The Press Operator will collaborate closely with prepress and design teams to execute print jobs efficiently and accurately, supporting the company's commitment to excellence in print advertising and packaging solutions.
Duties
- Set up and operate different types of printing presses, including flexo presses, ensuring proper calibration and alignment for each job.
- Prepare printing materials by reviewing job specifications, verifying color accuracy, and adjusting machinery settings accordingly.
- Monitor the printing process continuously to detect and correct issues related to ink flow, registration, or color discrepancies.
- Perform routine maintenance on printing equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
- Conduct quality control inspections throughout production runs to verify color consistency, image clarity, and overall print quality.
- Collaborate with prepress teams on layout design, typography, and color management to achieve desired visual outcomes.
- Maintain detailed records of production runs, machine settings, and any adjustments made during operation.
- Operate auxiliary equipment such as CNC machines or machining tools when necessary for custom parts or adjustments.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment at all times.
- Assist in troubleshooting technical issues related to machinery or print processes promptly.
Experience
- Proven experience operating various printing presses, particularly flexo and screen printing equipment.
- Strong knowledge of prepress processes including layout design, typography, and color management techniques.
- Familiarity with graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator) for preparing print files.
- Understanding of manufacturing principles related to quality control and process optimization.
- Experience with CNC machining or machining processes is advantageous.
- Knowledge of print advertising standards and packaging production is preferred.
- Ability to operate forklifts or other material handling equipment safely is a plus.
- Prior experience working in a fast-paced production environment with strict quality requirements is highly desirable.
Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
