Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and energetic Assistant Coach to join our Head Coach during the 2026-2027 AAU Basketball term. (Fall 2026- Spring 2027). The ideal candidate will help foster a positive environment for participants, and contribute to the development of skills and teamwork.
Coaches must go through an initial ONE -WEEK volunteer phase before paid coachwork begins.
Practices are held THREE times a week in Woodland Hills, CA
Games are held typically on weekends and weeknights
Responsibilities
- Assist head coach in planning and executing training sessions
- Build Athlete Improvement Plans (AIP) to help players see the area needing focus
- Support the development of athletes’ skills through instruction and encouragement.
- Help manage behavior and promote good conduct among participants during practices and events.
- Ensure safety protocols are followed
- Maintain equipment and ensure the training area is clean and organized.
- Foster a positive team environment by encouraging teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship.
- Support event setup, travel with team when necessary and handle participant registration, and other logistical tasks as needed.
- Lead drill workshops during spring and fall conditioning camps
- Recruit players to participate in LA Wolves programming.
Skills
- Prior experience in sports coaching or organised basketball is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills with experience working with students or children.
- Ability to manage behavior effectively and promote a positive learning environment.
- Knowledge of health club or gym operations is beneficial.
- Experience working with diverse age groups and skill levels.
- Enthusiasm for sports coaching, childcare, and physical activity instruction. This position provides an engaging environment for individuals passionate about sports education, youth development, and promoting healthy lifestyles through active participation.
Pay: $20.00 per hour
