POSITION TITLE: Landscape Maintenance Field Manager
SUPERVISOR: Landscape Maintenance Director
PURPOSE OF POSITION: The Landscape Maintenance Field Manager directs the
administrative and field operations for the Landscape Maintenance Department and related
enhancement, irrigation and subcontractor services. The Field Manager meets or exceeds
Heritage Landscapes’ professional and production standards as well as contract requirements
while developing field staff and delivering excellent Client service.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
80% 1. Operations
Fulfill the requirements of the Landscape Maintenance Crew Leader Level III and assume
responsibility for the day to day operations for all landscape installation and related subcontractor
services, including:
● Lead, Manage and hold Crew Leaders Accountable.
● Provide all Field Staff with on-the-job skills training and development.
● Evaluate Field Staff performance, conduct quarterly conversations and as-needed
discipline.
● Responsible for Field Staff recruitment, onboarding and terminations.
● Responsible for daily time entry, receipts & work ticket completion.
● Responsible for weekly time card management & submission for payroll.
● Rotate daily to job sites to ensure high standards of safety and quality.
● Provide onsite Client communication.
● Order, schedule and procure timely and accurate material deliveries.
● Coordinate all subcontractors and equipment requirements.
● Manage fleet, tools & equipment, yard organization & efficiency and material inventory.
● Stay at the forefront of emerging trends in sustainable landscape, water conservation and
other relevant horticultural practices through continuing education and industry
participation.
● Ensure that company production rates and standards of quality workmanship are
met or exceeded.

10% 2. Safety
● Implement the company’s Injury and Prevention Program to promote a safe work
environment.
● Follow all safety procedures and report any unsafe conditions to the Maintenance
Director.
● Operate equipment and vehicles in a safe and proper manner.
10% 3. Heritage Landscapes Team Member
● Serve as a member of the Heritage Landscapes Team and participate in a highly
cooperative and positive manner.
● Communicate with the Maintenance Director regarding progress of tasks. Interact with
Clients and other Team Members in a proactive and professional manner.
● Thoroughly understand and comply with Company mission, core values, policies,
standard operating procedures and expectations of employment.
4. Other duties as assigned.
REPORT PREPARATION:
● Disciplinary Reports.
● Accident / Injury Incident Reports.
● Regular reporting to the Maintenance Director.
● Other reports as required.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Supervise a combination of 25+ field staff including Crew Leaders, Crew Members and
Technicians.
WORK DIRECTION: Work direction comes from the Maintenance Director.
WORK COORDINATION: Strong coordination with other Field Managers and Account
Managers.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
General Requirements:
● Manage multiple crews.
● Train, evaluate & discipline Field Staff including onboarding and terminations.
● Foresee Opportunities and solve / resolve Issues.
● Demonstrate owner mentality.
Specialized and Technical Knowledge, Certification, Licenses:
● Bilingual English/Spanish.
● Valid California Drivers License.
● Qualified Pesticide Applicator Certificate (QAC).
● Arborist Certificate.
● ReScape Certificate.
● Desirable: attend seminars, college or university classes, self-study, industry-related
certifications.
LENGTH OF EXPERIENCE:
● 5 years or more in landscape maintenance with at least 2 years in a supervisory position
and landscape enhancement & irrigation project management.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
