We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our accounting team at a high-end automotive dealership. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and experience processing a high volume of invoices and vendor payments.
Experience working in an automotive dealership accounting environment and familiarity with Tekion is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Process and post vendor invoices accurately and timely.
- Match invoices to purchase orders, receiving documents, and supporting documentation.
- Maintain accurate vendor accounts and investigate discrepancies.
- Prepare and process vendor payments by check, ACH, wire, and other approved methods.
- Reconcile vendor statements and research outstanding balances.
- Monitor accounts payable aging and ensure invoices are paid according to established terms.
- Code invoices to the appropriate general ledger accounts and departments.
- Maintain organized electronic documentation and supporting documentation for all AP transactions.
- Assist with monthly closing procedures and AP reconciliations.
- Review transactions for proper approval and supporting documentation before payment.
- Work closely with Parts, Service, Sales, and other dealership departments to resolve invoice discrepancies.
- Assist with bank and credit card reconciliations when needed.
- Research and resolve duplicate invoices, incorrect postings, credits, and unapplied payments.
- Assist with audits and provide requested AP documentation.
- Ensure compliance with company accounting policies and internal controls.
- Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of accounts payable or accounting experience.
- Automotive dealership accounting experience preferred, but not required.
- Tekion experience preferred, but not required.
- Strong understanding of general ledger account coding.
- Experience with vendor reconciliations and payment processing.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to handle confidential financial information.
- Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
Pay: $10.50 - $12.50 per hour
