Responsibilities
Perform visual inspections of welds before, during, and after fabrication processes.
Verify that all welding procedures and personnel conform strictly to AWS D1.1 and D1.5 codes.
Review and approve Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and Welder Performance Qualifications.
Conduct and document non-destructive testing (NDT) including magnetic particle and dye penetrant.
Monitor environmental conditions, preheat temperatures, and interpass temperatures during welding.
Identify weld defects, issue non-conformance reports, and recommend corrective actions.
Collaborate with engineering and project management teams to resolve quality control issues.
Maintain organized, detailed records of all daily inspections, tests, and code compliance logs.
