Job Title: Donor & Community Engagement Manager

Position Summary:
The Donor & Community Engagement Manager position is responsible for implementing engagement and fundraising strategies to grow the number prospective donors capable of supporting The Living Room. In partnership with the Executive Director, staff, and Board of Directors, this position implements strategies that contribute to the acquisition, cultivation, and retention of the donor community. This position requires interpersonal sophistication and a flexible mindset due to working with a variety of TLR stakeholders.
Job Duties:
- Responsible for leading Development team within a respectful and collaborative environment while nurturing the team’s creative development.
- Responsible for identifying, cultivating, and thanking donors in numerous and impactful ways.
- In conjunction with the Executive Director, develop and maintain ongoing knowledge of potential funding sources (individuals, corporations, foundations) for the agency’s programs.
- Attend and support the agency’s fund-raising and donor events.
- Required to attend and represent the organization at events, meetings, and donor-facing engagements.
- Participate in a speakers’ bureau for regular presentations.
- Plan and implement annual events with TLR staff. Review donor lists, identify prospects for personal solicitations, and train and support board members.
- Operate and oversee management of donor database including data entry, regular report generation, thank-you letters, and fund development reports.
- Collaborate with TLR staff on direct mail appeals, annual reports, and newsletters, and oversee production of brochures, as needed.
- Continue to develop and refine giving programs including legacy and planned giving programs.
- Active member of the Community Engagement committee with the Board of Directors.
- Responsible for running agency events meetings.
- Responsible for nurturing in-kind donation appreciations and thank yous as well as donor follow-up cultivation.
- Manage community engagement opportunities for prospective donors and volunteers.
- Participate in community engagement strategies to increase and educate TLR donor community
- Main point of contact for third party events.
- Ability to work positively and cooperatively with directors and provide leadership and support with their specific development needs.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Environment:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee works both indoors and outdoors
- May be exposed to equipment vibrations, noises, and odors, wet and/or slippery surfaces.
- May include traveling to meetings, conferences, and work assignments
- The employee must be able to meet deadlines with strict time constraints.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and often work in a shared space
- Operate an agency motor vehicle
- Some evenings and weekends are required for community functions and events
