Sandpiper Beacon Beach Resort is seeking a skilled, detail-oriented Painter to join our in-house maintenance and renovation team. This role is essential in maintaining the resort’s appearance and ensuring our guest rooms, common areas, and facilities reflect the high standards of our beachfront property. The ideal candidate will have experience in residential and commercial painting, with a strong understanding of surface preparation, finishing techniques, and safety practices in an active hospitality environment.
This position offers steady work in a dynamic resort setting, supporting ongoing renovations, restorations, and preventative maintenance projects.
Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, scraping, caulking, and priming to ensure proper paint adhesion
- Apply paint, stain, and protective coatings using brushes, rollers, airless sprayers, or other appropriate methods
- Perform surface repairs including drywall patching, plastering, trim work, and minor carpentry to achieve smooth, professional finishes
- Conduct restoration and touch-up work in guest rooms, hallways, exterior areas, and common spaces
- Mix paints and coatings accurately to ensure consistent color and finish quality
- Safely operate and maintain hand tools and power tools, including sprayers, sanders, and drills
- Read and follow project plans, work orders, and specifications provided by management
- Adhere to all safety protocols, OSHA standards, and resort guidelines while working on-site
- Coordinate with maintenance, housekeeping, and management teams to minimize guest disruption
- Assist with material estimates and inventory management when needed
Requirements
- Proven experience in residential or commercial painting (hospitality or resort experience preferred)
- Strong knowledge of surface preparation, coatings, and finishing techniques
- Familiarity with hand tools (brushes, rollers, scrapers, caulking guns) and power tools (airless sprayers, sanders, drills)
- Experience with drywall repair, plastering, trim carpentry, or general maintenance is a plus
- Understanding of color matching and basic color theory
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in an active resort environment
- Knowledge of construction and maintenance safety practices
- Attention to detail with a commitment to high-quality workmanship
- Ability to manage time effectively and meet project deadlines
