Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Office Manager/Dental Assistant to join our vibrant dental practice. This dual-role position combines administrative leadership with clinical support, ensuring smooth daily operations and exceptional patient care. Duties
- Oversee daily office operations, including appointment scheduling, patient check-in/out, and maintaining medical records in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft.
- Manage patient flow and coordinate with dental team members to ensure efficient four-handed dentistry and chairside assisting.
- Assist with clinical procedures by preparing treatment rooms, taking vital signs, and performing X-ray imaging using digital sensors or 3D scanners while maintaining aseptic technique and infection control protocols.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient information and managing medical documentation accurately.
- Support billing and coding processes by understanding medical coding standards relevant to dental procedures and pediatrics.
- Maintain inventory of dental supplies, sterilize instruments, and uphold infection control standards across the clinic.
- Act as a dental receptionist by answering phones, confirming appointments, providing patient education on procedures like prosthodontics or endodontics, and managing patient inquiries professionally.
- Facilitate communication between patients and the dental team regarding treatment plans, medical history updates, and post-treatment care instructions.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of dental assisting duties and office management responsibilities.
- Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; experience with Epic is a plus.
- Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry.
- Proficiency in taking X-rays, operating 3D scanners, and performing vital signs measurement.
- Knowledge of infection control practices, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures within a dental setting.
- Ability to handle medical records management accurately while ensuring HIPAA compliance.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
