Shift: Sunday-Thursday 9am-5pm
We are seeking a Laboratory Technician to perform accurate and timely gluten testing in a high-volume commercial laboratory. This role involves analyzing food samples using wet chemistry, high-tech laboratory instrumentation, and standardized testing methods to support regulatory compliance and customer product claims. The ideal candidate has strong analytical, troubleshooting, and organizational skills, with experience in quality systems and laboratory operations.
Responsibilities
- Perform gluten testing, wet chemistry, and laboratory analyses following approved procedures.
- Prioritize workloads to meet turnaround times and deliver accurate reports through data interpretation, calculations, and peer review.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 17025, quality standards, and laboratory safety requirements.
- Conduct instrument maintenance, troubleshooting, calibration, and reliability checks.
- Maintain laboratory documentation, develop procedures, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist with method validation, new test method evaluations, audits, investigations, and cross-functional projects.
- Train laboratory personnel through cross-training and provide technical support as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred in Food Science, Microbiology, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of food testing laboratory experience.
- Hands-on experience with wet chemistry, pipetting, quantitative analysis, solution preparation, data calculations, and laboratory instrumentation.
- Experience troubleshooting laboratory equipment and working in an ISO 17025-accredited laboratory.
- Experience with LabWare LIMS is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Strong analytical, organizational, communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills with flexibility to work extended hours or weekends as business needs require.
Pay: $23.00 per hour
