Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and highly experienced Commercial Construction Superintendent with a strong background in hotel construction to lead complex projects from start to finish. In this pivotal role, you will oversee all on-site construction activities, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Your expertise in managing teams, interpreting technical drawings, and coordinating schedules will drive project success and client satisfaction. Duties
- Lead and supervise all construction activities on-site, ensuring adherence to project plans, specifications, and safety regulations.
- Coordinate and manage subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to maintain project schedules and quality standards.
- Review construction drawings, blueprints, and technical documents to ensure accurate interpretation and implementation of design intent.
- Develop, maintain, and update detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 or similar construction management software; monitor progress regularly.
- Manage project budgets by tracking costs, controlling expenses, and implementing cost-saving measures without compromising quality.
- Enforce OSHA standards and federal construction safety regulations to maintain a safe work environment for all personnel.
- Conduct quality control inspections and oversee construction safety management practices across the site.
- Review contracts, change orders, and manage procurement processes using HeavyBid or comparable software tools.
- Utilize ProCore and Bluebeam for daily reporting, document management, RFIs (Requests for Information), submittals, and communication with stakeholders.
- Interpret technical drawings and specifications to resolve issues promptly during construction phases.
- Supervise crews effectively by providing clear direction, managing performance, and fostering teamwork in a fast-paced environment.
- Ensure compliance with all construction regulations while maintaining high standards of workmanship throughout the project lifecycle.
Skills
- Extensive experience in commercial hotel construction projects with proven supervision of large teams on-site.
- Strong knowledge of construction management software such as Primavera P6, Primavera P3, ProCore, Bluebeam, HeavyBid, and other industry-standard tools.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints and technical drawings; ability to interpret complex specifications accurately.
- Skilled in project scheduling, construction safety management (OSHA compliance), budgeting, and quality control processes.
- Excellent managerial communication skills with the ability to lead diverse teams effectively under tight deadlines.
- Deep understanding of federal construction safety regulations as well as local building codes and industry standards.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple subcontractors simultaneously while maintaining schedule integrity.
- Experience in managing contracts including change orders, scope adjustments, and procurement documentation via Construction Management software platforms like Primavera P6 or equivalent.
- Knowledge of OHMMeter usage for electrical testing when necessary on site inspections.
- Strong leadership qualities with a focus on crew management, supervision experience, and fostering a safety-first culture across the project site.
