Position Summary
The Care Aide provides hands-on support to clients by assisting with activities of daily living while promoting independence, dignity, and quality of life. This role also contributes to maintaining a safe, clean, and positive living environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including mobility, transfers, and personal care
- Follow and support each client's individualized care plan
- Advocate for clients' needs, preferences, and choices
- Encourage and support social engagement and meaningful relationships
- Maintain respectful, positive communication with clients, families, and team members
- Ensure a safe and healthy environment for all clients
- Complete accurate and timely documentation
- Assist with household duties such as meal preparation, light housekeeping, and laundry
- Follow all company policies and regulatory requirements
- Report safety or maintenance concerns to leadership
- Collaborate with team members and contribute to a positive work environment
QualificationsRequired
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and assist with client mobility
- Ability to complete required documentation
Preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1+ year experience in in-home care
- Valid driver's license
Work Environment
- Active, client-focused caregiving environment
- Requires walking, bending, lifting, and assisting clients throughout the shift
