Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently to and from a local plant to a warehouse. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to handle dry vans. The Truck Driver will play a crucial role in ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining the highest standards of service. This is a minimum 4 nights a week position working 12-hour shifts, that will require a lot of getting in and out of the truck.
Responsibilities
- Operate dry vans.
- Safely load and unload cargo as required.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery times, and vehicle maintenance.
- Follow all traffic laws and regulations while on the road.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise.
- Ensure cargo is secured properly to prevent damage during transport.
- Provide excellent customer service during deliveries.
Skills
- Proficient in truck driving with experience in operating manual transmission vehicles.
- Knowledge of commercial driving regulations and best practices.
- Experience as a delivery driver with a strong focus on safety and efficiency.
- Strong problem-solving skills to address any issues that may occur during transport.
- Excellent time management skills to ensure timely deliveries.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
