JOB SUMMARY
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing regular or routine maintenance tasks on HVAC systems, and provides exceptional customer service at all times by treating customers with the utmost respect and attention. This position’s primary focus is on seasonal maintenance at customer residential sites when switching between heating and cooling functions. The Maintenance Technician may also be required to perform basic troubleshooting and repair services based on findings from maintenance customer visit.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Conducts performance tests with specialized tools and adjusts system settings.
Cleans ducts or clearing intake and outflow vents of dust and debris, ensuring that filtration systems are clean and effective to optimize efficiency and improve air quality.
May replace or repair basic HVAC equipment or parts as discovered during routine maintenance visit.
Performs warranty services as required.
Replaces disposable filter(s) for HVAC system(s).
Communicates identified problem(s) effectively to customers and offer alternative solutions.
Ensures condensation drain line is free of debris and draining properly.
Diagnoses refrigeration requirements, ensuring AC systems are running at full efficient capacity.
Provides cost estimates to customers and obtains signature approval to move forward with any billable repairs.
Orders and collects parts once customer gives approval, and communicates with supervisor regarding any challenges.
Keeps all required logs and records of maintenance functions.
Maintains service truck based on company expectations.
Ensures compliance with appliance standards and with Health and Safety Act.
Practices industry safety and compliance procedures.
Completes all services rendered using protective measures to keep customer’s home or business clean and undamaged.
Participates in company-provided training opportunities on customer service and the latest industry technologies.
Completes other duties as assigned by supervisor.
PREREQUISITE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
High school diploma, GED or suitable equivalent.
1+ years residential HVAC experience and/or completion of a trade/technical school program.
EPA and NATE Certification (preferred).
Basic refrigeration operations knowledge with demonstrated ability to troubleshoot.
Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
Basic electrical and mechanical diagnostic skills.

ENVIRONMENTAL, PHYSICAL, AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to operate tablet, mobile phone and other field equipment as needed
Ability to read, write, speak, hear, see, think, communicate, concentrate, learn, and work
Ability to lift/carry up to 75 lbs. without assistance repeatedly during work hours
Ability to climb up and down ladders and/or step stools repeatedly during work hours
Ability to sit/stand for long periods of time during work hours
Ability to frequently squat, stoop or kneel, reach above the head and reach forward.
Ability to work in small and confined dark spaces such as crawl spaces, attics, etc.
Ability to work in a wide range of temperatures (indoor/outdoor)
Ability to travel up to 75% of the time between job sites and customer locations
Correctible vision and hearing.
Ability to communicate verbally in English in a clear understandable speaking voice both in person and on the telephone.
Ability to manage multiple tasks with changing priorities.
